Runtime Studio London

Quality engineering, applied AI, software delivery, and technology consulting — practised by the people whose names are on the page, not an account team.

Quality & delivery

Ship with a number you can defend.

Test strategy, release gates, and delivery discipline that turn shipping from a ritual into a decision.

Applied AI

AI with evaluation, not just demos.

Golden sets, release thresholds, and operational limits so model-backed features survive real users, not just the boardroom.

The principals

The people who do the work.

No hand-off, no shadow team. Four principals, each with a practice. The person on the first call is the person in the codebase.

Our services

What they hire us for

Quality. Models. Delivery. Counsel. Read the name, then the line. Open the practice that matches the risk.

About us

Welcome to Runtime Studio London.

A United Kingdom consultancy of four principals. Quality engineering, applied AI, software delivery, and reliability — practised by the people whose names are on this page, not handed off to an account team.

Runtime Studio London is a small engineering partnership. Product companies bring us in when a release is no longer honest, when a model cannot be evaluated, or when the platform only two people understand is becoming the platform nobody can change. We work in the codebase, with the team that will keep the work.

What they say about us

After they have to live with it.

Engineering, quality, product, and the person who signs the release — voices from the rooms that hire us.

The suite we had was theatre — green in CI, blind in production. They cut it to the paths that can actually lose a settlement, put the gate in the pipeline, and left our engineers able to change it. I sign the release in twenty minutes now. That used to be an afternoon.

Elena Marchetti

VP of Engineering, B2B payments platform

I was the person who arrived after the build to add QA. They made quality an engineering practice: a strategy the architects would argue with, ownership inside the squads, and failures that mean something. I am no longer a queue.

Samir Rahman

Head of Quality, Clinical workflow SaaS

I needed someone who would tell me the platform was the problem, then stay long enough to prove it. They mapped the system two people understood, named the risk in a sentence the board could hear, and modernised the piece every squad was blocked on. The people on the first call were the people in the codebase.

Joanna Hale

CTO, Growth-stage B2B

We could wow a room. We could not say whether Tuesday’s prompt was better than Monday’s. They built a golden set, a threshold legal would stand behind, and a go / no-go that made the launch a decision. We waited two weeks. That wait is why we still have the accounts.

Marcus Ellison

Director of Product, AI knowledge platform

Velocity was a story we told in stand-up. What we have now is a train that tells the truth: the flakes are gone, the gates live in CI, and the team owns them without a vendor on the call. I bought capacity. I got a habit.

Nadia Okonkwo

VP of Engineering, Two-sided marketplace

We are proud to be aligned with

Credentials and standards

Quality, security, and accessibility built in from the start — not bolted on after a review.

ISTQB

Quality practice aligned to recognised testing standards.

OWASP

Application security as part of delivery, not a late audit.

WCAG

Accessibility as a release criterion, not a backlog wish.

ISO 27001-aware

Controls and evidence that stand up to a security review.

UK GDPR

Personal data handled for enquiry and delivery, nothing else.

Quality Engineering

Equality was the wrong contract

Same input, same output built a generation of test suites. Language models, retrievers, and agents are allowed to be different and still be right. Pass has to change with them.
